Update: Apple’s classical music app will soon be available for Android smartphones and the iOS version is available for all iPhones running on iOS 15.4 or newer version.

Apple’s classical music app is finally available on the App Store and can be downloaded for free. When compared to the standard Apple Music app, the classical app is designed to handle the complex metadata of classical music albums and recordings. Similarly, the Apple Music classical app also helps people better understand various genres of music with ease and offers details on the comper with various information such as biography and more.

Currently, anyone with an Apple Music subscription can access the Apple Music classical app. It offers curated playlists, well know works of music (classic), and instruments-based playlists. For music aficionados, the Apple Music classical app can play high-fidelity lossless music at a 192 kHz/24-bit rate. Apple also offers new releases, exclusive albums, and music with spatial audio support within the app.

Users can also create custom albums by browsing through catalogues that contain composers, periods, genres, conductors, orchestras, soloists, ensembles, and choirs. However, one cannot directly subscribe to Apple Music within the classical app, and one has to download the regular Apple Music app to do so.

Apple Music’s classical app does not allow users to download music, unlike the regular app, and users can only directly stream the music. Similarly, users with an Apple Music Voice Plan will also not be able to use the classical app. At the moment, there is no dedicated iPad version of the classical app available.
