Lenovo’s sub-brand finally unveiled the Zuk Edge in China after teasing the phone for weeks. Zuk’s latest flagship smartphone comes in Titanium Black and Ceramic White colour variants. The 4GB version of the phone is priced at 2,229 Yuan (or approx Rs 22,506), while the 6GB model costs 2,499 Yuan (or approx Rs 24,464).
The Zuk Edge boasts a large screen with thin bezels surrounding it. The smartphone gets a 5.5-inch FHD large screen with 86.4 per cent body ratio. Rumours in the past have suggested the Zuk Edge would feature dual curved edge display like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. However, the Zuk Edge not even comes close to the Galaxy S7 Edge’s design.
While the Zuk Edge may not have a dual curved edge display, the phone trumps Samsung’s flagship smartphone by embedding the fingerprint scanner under the glass. The company claims the sensor is fast enough to unlock the phone in just 0.09 seconds. The idea of incorporating an under-glass fingerprint scanner on a smartphone was first introduced by Xiaomi. Introduced in September, the Mi 5s features a biometric fingerprint scanner built right into the glass bezel below the display, giving the phone much sleeker look.

The Zuk Edge also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz. The phone also has a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, while an 8-megapixel shooter is placed on the front side.
The Zuk Edge is further backed by a 3,100 mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat based on ZUI 2.5. You also get USB Type-C port (yes, it supports Quick Charge 3.0), dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi. The smartphone will be available in two storage options: 64GB variant with 4GB RAM ,and 64GB model with 6GB RAM.
Lenovo has so far launched the Zuk Edge in China, and there is no word when it plans to launch the device in India. The company has a solid presence in the Indian market, and is doing exceptionally well in the smartphone space. Given Lenovo’s past track record, we expect to see the Zuk Edge in India sometime in the first half of 2017.
