Samsung has officially confirmed that OneUI 6.1 will roll out starting March 28 for eligible previous-generation Galaxy S series and Z series flagship smartphones to enable Galaxy AI features. The update will also be available for the Galaxy Tab S9 series in April.
In an official press note, Samsung said, “Galaxy AI puts our groundbreaking suite of AI tools in the palm of more users’ hands in different form factors — tailoring the mobile experience to their needs. Now, Samsung is bringing Galaxy AI features to even more users across the Galaxy ecosystem.”
Samsung originally introduced the Galaxy AI features with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones in February, and the company is now rolling out those features to the previous generation flagships. The update will be rolled out to the unlocked versions of the previous generation flagship Galaxy smartphones, including foldable and non-foldable devices.

Galaxy AI features are already available on the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review), Galaxy S24 Plus, and the Galaxy S24.
Once updated to Android 14-based OneUI 6.1, users can experience Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Live Translate, Generative Edit, Chat Assist, and more on select Samsung smartphones, which includes the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets.
As specified earlier, the Galaxy AI features will be available for free of cost until 2025 on eligible smartphones, and to use some of these features one needs a Samsung account, an active internet connection and users might also have to download additional resources.
