The first month of 2024 saw a plethora of smartphones from the mid-range Realme 12 series to the flagship Galaxy S24 series. Just like last month, we expect companies like iQOO, Honor and Nothing to launch new devices in the coming days. From iQOO 9 Pro to Nothing Phone 2a, here are some of the most anticipated launches of February 2024.
Nothing recently confirmed the name of its upcoming mid-range device. Dubbed the Phone (2a), the company said that it will be a noticeable upgrade compared to the Phone (1). While Nothing is yet to reveal details about the Phone (2a), codenamed ‘Aerodactyl’, the upcoming device is rumoured to carry over the company’s iconic Glyph interface with some variations.
Speculations also suggest that the new phone might feature the Dimensity 7200 chipset with some renders hinting at a horizontal camera island and a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen. While there is no information on how much it will cost, the company might price it under Rs 30,000 since it might replace the Phone (1).
iQOO has confirmed that the Neo 9 Pro is coming to India later this month on February 22. According to a landing page on Amazon, the upcoming phone will be powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and offer up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The page also revealed that the Neo 9 Pro will have a 50MP Sony IMX920 primary camera alongside an unknown 8MP ultrawide sensor. It will pack a 5,160mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. Also, instead of a glass back, the Neo 9 Pro will have a dual-tone leather back. Going by last year’s price, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro might be priced under Rs 40,000.
Honor is also launching the X9B in India on February 15. The company’s second phone in India will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and run on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. The global variant comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, has a 108MP camera and packs a 5,800mah battery.
Honor claims that the X9B will have an ‘unbreakable curved display’ and a slim profile. Unfortunately, there are no details on how much it will cost, but going by the pricing of the global variant, it might be priced somewhere around Rs 40,000.
Xiaomi is also expected to bring the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in India sometime this month. Launched in October in China last year, the company’s latest flagship phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and runs on HyperOS based on Android 14.
The Chinese version comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage and packs a 4,610mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with a triple camera setup that consists of a 1-inch type 50MP primary sensor accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens tuned by Leica. It might cost somewhere around Rs 80,000, but we will have to wait to know the actual price.
