Australia batter Glenn Maxwell recorded a golden duck in his first outing in IPL 2025 for Punjab Kings against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Walking in at no. 5, Maxwell was adjudged lbw first ball while attempting a reverse-sweep of leg-spinner R Sai Kishore.
The blob marked his 19th duck in the IPL, taking him past Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik for the most ducks in IPL history. In a career spanning 460 T20s, Maxwell has bagged 35 ducks, the fourth-most ever by a batter.
Maxwell had a forgettable IPL 2024 season with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scoring a paltry 52 runs in 10 matches.
