IPL 2021, RR vs SRH Highlights: Buttler’s first IPL century keeps Hyderabad at bottom of table

Chris Morris uproots SRH's last remaining hopes with the wickets of both Samad and Kedar in one over. Rashid Khan also comes and departs without bothering the scorers. SRH free falling.

Abdul Samad joins Kedar Jadhav at 7. He shows what he can do with a six off Sakariya. It's a road too long at the moment though. 81 runs needed in 4 overs. Kedar and Samad in there for SRH.

Williamson holes out at deep midwicket. That should be the game for Rajasthan. Kartik Tyagi's pace is hard to get timing on at the moment, and Williamson falls for 21. Nabi comes in looking in six-happy mood. Smashes a couple off Tewatia. And then falls to a top edge. Wheels falling off for SRH.

Shankar is found out by a slower one from Morris. Kedar Jadhav joins KW. Tewatia continues. Jadhav pounces on a loose ball and carts a six down the ground.

Williamson, with Vijay Shankar in tow, now goes into rebuilding mode. The run rate is just about 6 for a while as Tewatia and Sakariya get their overs done with.

The break does the trick for RR. Mustafizur gets one to go through his former teammate's defence. Pandey is bowled. Out for 31. Williamson joins Bairstow. In the 7th over, it's Bairstow's turn to fall. Gone to Tewatia for 30.

SRH 70/2 after 8

Manish Pandey finds his touch. Tyagi is hammered now. For two sixes in the 5th over. Tonked down the ground with timing. In the next over, Morris is introduced, and this time Pandey plays a couple more agricultural shots to get two fours on the leg side.

Bairstow gets off the mark with a four driven off Mustafizur's first ball in the 2nd over. Tyagi, with a ball as heavy as a 'hathoda' in his hands, continues at express pace in the 3rd. Chetan Sakariya replaces Mustafizur in the 4th and is put to the sword by Mustafizur. 6, 4, 4 - 16 runs off the over.

Young Kartik Tyagi takes the new ball for Rajasthan as Manish Pandey opens the batting with Bairstow. Pandey sees off a few dot balls - bowled at searing pace - before getting a edge to go over the keeper's head for four.

SRH 4/0 after 1

Miller ends the innings with a six. Rajasthan end with 220/3 after 20 overs. Buttler's 124 being the star of the show. SRH will chase 221 to win.

Riyan Parag, promoted over Miller, crashes a flat six off Bhuvi's 18th over. Sandeep Sharma, bowling the 19th over, is taken to the cleaners. 6, 4,6, 6, 6, W. Oh! Buttler is bowled. Out for 124 off 64 balls. The highest individual score of the season so far.

RR 209/3 after 19

Bhuvi is brought back in the 16th over but he too gets carted around. Buttler moves into his 90s as both batsmen find the fence once each. Shankar brought back in the 17th - Buttler gets an edge to go away for four too. Samson holes out at long off. He falls for 48. Buttler reaches his 100 off 56 balls.

RR 172/2 after 17

After the second TimeOut of the innings, RR continue to pile the pressure on SRH. Khaleel Ahmed is smoked for 14 runs off the 14th over as play restarts. SRH go to Nabi. Can he provide the breakthrough? Nope. A six and a four crashed against him too. Buttler must have taken inspiration from the Polly show last night.

RR 146/1 after 15

Boom, belted over long-off! Buttler (57*) reaches his 12th IPL half-century and he does it in style against Sandeep. The opener finds his groove and punishes the bowler again with a well-struck boundary. Samson's on 33* at the other end. RR: 111/1 (13 overs)

Hyderabad are trying to put some pressure on the batting pair, but some quick running between the wickets keeps up the momentum. Samson (32*) ups the ante by hitting Rashid for a four on the spinner's final over. After the skipper releases some of the tension, Buttler follows suit in the next over. He hits Khaleel for a four over the wicketkeeper's head. RR: 94/1 (12 overs)

Despite Jaiswal's dismissal early on, Rajasthan have maintained their grip on the contest. Samson (23*) and Buttler (29*) continue with their fifty-run stand, hitting Khaleel for seven runs. Rashid comes back and he gives away just four runs. RR: 71/1 (9 overs)

Huge over! The RR caravan zooms forward post the Powerplay. Vijay Shankar goes for 18 runs in the 7th over. Both Samson and Buttler smash a six each.

RR 60/1 after 7

Rashid Khan continues with his second over and almost gets Buttler. Twice. Once with a loud LBW appeal and then with a shot that almost goes to long on. Bhuvi bowls his 2nd over to end the Powerplay. It was a slow start, but RR end the Powerplay having found some momentum.

RR 42/1 after 6 

Rashid Khan gets the last laugh over Jaiswal. The RR opener gets a couple of boundaries before Rashid beats him with a flipper that goes under the bat. Sanju Samson enters at 3, and begins his innings with a first-ball six.

RR 29/1 after 4

Just 2 runs off the first over. Sandeep Sharma also gives no inches in the 2nd over. Just 3 off it. Jaiswal and Buttler are being cramped for room. Rashid Khan enters the attack in the 3rd. Jaiswal sweeps his first ball for four.

RR 9/0 after 2.1

Kane Williamson has a huddle with his SRH boys as the players step out. Warner sits on the sidelines. The new ball is also back in Bhuvi's hands. Buttler and Jaiswal are at the crease. Buttler is on strike. Here we go.

New SRH captain Kane Williamson wins the toss and chooses to bowl against Rajasthan Royals at Delhi's Firoze Shah Kotla pitch. Here's what the skipper says," Three changes: Nabi, Bhuvi is back, and Samad is back in. Two guys back in after injury. Davey, Suchith, and Kaul miss out. We know as a group it's important to come together and build on some positive parts. It has been tough today, like I said. Obviously, the change is fairly sudden and as a group try and improve in all facets and hopefully that reflects in the result. It's important we adjust to the conditions and play with a smile."

"I think it's important for us to have a complete match - we need to address the issues we have. Nothing different [what are you expecting from a new captain?] Whatever we do, the result matters at the end of the day. Personally, it has been a tough season for me. I've been batting down the order and I've had every little time when I've walked in [to bat]. It was also difficult in Chennai. I can't be too harsh on myself but, definitely, I'll look to get better as a cricketer. I think we need to keep things as simple as possible and trust our own skills."
