Watch: Indian players meet local players and fans at Barbados

Indian cricketers who at presently at Barbados getting ready for the first Test against West Indies which is due to begin on July 12, met with some local cricketers and fans and took selfies as well as signed autographs.

In a video shared from the official handle of the BCCI, cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin Ishan Kishan and Ajinkya Rahane among others were seen in various interactions with the fans and some local cricketers.

“For two days, they are helping us practice. They even went off the field and helped us find the balls which had gone out. They helped us a lot and it felt really nice,” said Siraj in the video.

A local cricketer was seen sitting on the stairs with Ashwin and chatting away. In the video the former revealed, “Just had a nice chat with Ashwin. One of the best off spinners to have played the game. It was a really entertaining and informative chat.”

India are touring the Caribbean for the first time since 2019, when the Virat Kohli-led side went unbeaten across formats.

With an ODI World Cup less than 100 days away from being hosted in India, the Rohit Sharma captained side in two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is, two of which shall be played in Lauderhill, Florida in the United States of America.

The Test series starting July 12 in Dominica will mark the Indian side’s first appearance since their defeat against Australia in the 2023 World Test Championship Final, their second consecutive in the fixture in two years.

The defeat also prolonged India’s wait for a first ICC title since 2013 when they won the Champions Trophy in England.
