Harshal Patel in to bowl the next over and starts with a wide. There's a catch now but was this too high? Patel bowls  a full toss, surprises Pant who swings the bat and the ball is caught by Shami. Umpires checking for height. Pant was standing out of his crease and in a crouching position. And it's a fair delivery says the umpire. And Pant goes!!

Zampa back in the attack and Pant takes a single to start this one off before Badoni returns the favour with a single of his own. 2 more from the next 2 deliveries as LSG keep the scoreboard ticking. And Badoni tries to go for a big hit, gets the top edge and Harshal completes a great running catch!!

Cummins in to bowl the next ball and he gets smashed for back to back boundaries by his compatriot as Marsh brings up his 50!! But Cummins has struck finally!! Marsh tries to go big again and holes out to Nitish Reddy in the deep.

Cummins into the attack now. Pooran with three runs off his first delivery as the fielder manages to save a single. Wide next before Marsh smashes the next ball for a boundary!! Adam Zampa brought in the attack to stem the flow of runs now. A single by Pooran to start this one before Marsh returns the favour with a single of his own. Pooran on strike and he smashes another six to bring up his 50!! And follows that up with another six!! LSG are not hanging about here. And that' another boundary!! There is absolutely no stopping this man tonight. 19 from this one.

Cummins brings himself in the attack now in the last over of the powerplay and Pooran smashes him for a straight four!! Ufff!!! Almost played that on in the next ball but Pooran gets lucky. A cheeky shot next as he ramps the next delivery to fine leg for a boundary!! 11 from this over.

Abhishek in to bowl the penultimate over in the powerplay. Marsh continues hs rampage with a boundary off the second delivery before taking a single next. Pooran on strike and he slams another huge six!!! Goes again and ends the over with another six!! This is what everyone thought the Hyderabad innings would be.

Avesh in to bowl the last over and Harshal with a single to start this one. Another single off the next ball as well. Two more singles as Avesh isn't giving them any room to hit. 2 more and 1 single to end. SRH have posted 190/9. Who would have thought this.

Shardul Thakur to bowl the penultimate over and starts with a single and a dot. AND HE HAS STRUCK AGAIN!! Shami gets the toe end of the bat and Badoni with an easy catch.

And right on cue, Klaasen slices the next ball, evading the sweeper cover fielder, for a boundary!! Nitish, meanwhile, can't get a proper bat to the ball since he came in. ANDDD WHAT A WEIRD DISMISSAL!!! Nitish hits it straight at the bowler, who gets a hand to it and that has crashed into the non striker's wicket. Klaasen was out of his crease and he has to walk back!!

Huge shout for Bishnoi for an LBW but umpire says no. LSG will still review and Nitish Reddy survives before Klaasen slams a four in the over!! Decent over though with just 7 from this one as well.

Prince Yadav continues and yields 2 singles from the first two deliveries. Great ball to follow as he slows the pace and Klaasen misses with a big swing. A single next and Nitish comes back on strike. Uff!! That's a short ball and goes too high for a wide. Follows that up with another wide. Just singles off the last two deliveries. Great over.

Digvesh Rathi in to bowl the next over and Klaasen and Reddy rotate strikes with singles. The over was going well before the burly South Africa fires one over the fence and into the crowd for a SIX!! Ends with a single. 9 from this one.

SRH 89/3 after 9 overs

Prince Yadav in to bowl the 8th over and Reddy with a nudge towards backward square leg for a boundary!! He just let the pace do its thing as he guided it for a four. A single next and Head is on strike. AAANDDD GONE!!!! He has clean bowled him and the biggest threat is gone!! Head went for a big swing, misses the straight ball and that has castled him.

Digvesh Rathi to bowl the next over and a bit of sloppy fielding leads to Nitish taking 3 runs. HHead on strike and Head cuts the next ball for a boundary!! Those catch misses now look costlier than ever. Two singles off the next two deliveries before Head finishes this one off with a dot ball, hit straight into the non-striker's wicket.

Last over inside the powerplay now. Bishnoi in to bowl and Head has hit it high but not wide!! Should be an easy catch but oh dear!!! Pooran of all people has dropped him!! How costly will this be? And he makes them pay straight away as he slams a six off the third delivery!! Ufff!!! Head survives again!! Dropped by Bishnoi now.

Digvesh Rathi in the attack now and Reddy nudges the first ball for a single. Head with a single as well and oh dear, it's a no ball. Free hit time. And just 1 run from Reddy from the free hit as he can't find the intended shot. Excellent fielding in the deep by Markram to save a boundary off next now. Just 2 from this one. And almost a catch out as the ball falls just short of Miller. 9 from this over.

SRH 54/2 after 5 overs

Avesh will continue and such is the depth of the SRH batting lineup, that they smashed two boundaries in the Thakur over even after losing 2 wickets. Head continues the carnage, unfazed with what's happening in the other end, slamming Avesh for a 6 in the very first ball of this over. Takes a single and Nitish Reddy is on strike. He takes a single off his own by punching the ball straight through mid on and mid off.  And Head has smashed another six, this time over sweeper cover to bring proceedings back to normal. Ends the over with a 4!!

Head on strike and tries to slam a wideish delivery but does not get any bat to it. Head pulls the last ball for a four to end the over on a high.

And here's Thakur with the first ball and Head immediately starts with a drive but a fielder in the circle saves before the second ball is also a dot. The 3rd delivery though is blasted straight over the bowler for a boundary!! A full toss next and Head smacks it but there's another fielder to cut it off. Takes a single next and Abhishek can see off this over. And it ends with a single.

Rishabh Pant: We will bowl first. I think we got to get them out early and look to chase the target. It depends on the team combination, that's why we want to bowl first. We have the batting to chase it down. The only change is Avesh comes back, Shahbaz misses out. We gonna chase whatever they score, doesn't matter.

Pat Cummins: It doesn't change the way our boys go about it, we always try to be positive. It's great fun. You know what you are signing up for coming into this tournament. Even going for 10 or 11 runs in an over, that can be match winning on somedays. We want to win games as a team and do well as a bowling unit. Hopefully we score big. We are playing with the same team like the other day..

Now then, it's time for the toss. Pat Cummins, the only non-Indian captain in the IPL, and Rishabh Pant are in the middle. The coin goes up and LSG have won the toss and opt to bowl first.

On an average 24 sixes have been hit per game, last game 30 sixes were hit, 528 runs were scored, you guessed it right, we are in Hyderabad. Talking about the dimensions, it isn’t that small. On my right it’s 69m, on my left it’s 67m and straight down the ground it’s a 79m hit. It’s a fresh pitch, the last game was on the other one, it had a bit more grass on it. This pitch is barren, it doesn’t have a blade of grass. Sounds very, very firm. When I look at the good length area, it’s a bit abrasive, there are little cracks, I'm not saying the cracks are going to open up, it's still is a very good pitch to bat on but once the ball gets older, it might be a bit slower on the bat. It’s a red soil pitch, so there will be bounce and carry but expect the pitch to slow down a bit once the ball gets older. As far as dew is concerned, there wasn’t any in the last game, don't expect it be to here either. So, batting first and piling up the runs is the way to go. Last season, this pitch was used in two games and in all four innings, more than 200 runs were scored. Expect a 200-plus total here as well but maybe not that 300 total, maybe not tonight, says Deep Dasgupta

Since last season, the Indian Premier League is waiting for its first-ever team to score 300, an astronomical number considering it's just 20 overs. But our hosts tonight, Sunrisers Hyderabad have come closest to breaching that mark with their destructive batting. There is some good news for LSG regarding their pace department with Avesh Khan set to be available for selection in this match after sitting out the DC game. They, however, are still short-handed with Mayank Yadav and Akash Deep yet to return while Mohsin Khan has been ruled out for the whole season, getting replaced by Shardul Thakur.
