India bowed out of the ICC World Twenty20 on Thursday with West Indies triumphing by seven wickets to reach the Final. The Darren Sammy-led side face England in the Final to be played on Sunday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After India’s disappointing loss, the Indian side had the comforting words of Sachin Tendulkar – someone who has been through such sad times before.
Tendulkar who was in attendance at the Wankhede Stadium witnessed India score 192 runs and look well on their way to the Final and possibly become the first team to win a tournament at home in this format. But as it worked out, Lendl Simmons, Johnson Charles and Andre Russell had other ideas. Soon enough, the joy turned to nerves and then to disappointing faces.
