Thisara Perera became the fourth bowler to pick up a hat-trick in T20Is. He achieved this feat against India in the 2nd T20I match in Ranchi.

Before Perera, Brett lee, Jacob Oram and Tim Southee had picked up T20I hat-tricks.

Lee demolished the Bangladesh line up in the year 2007. He dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Alok Kapali. Jacob Oram took his hat-trick against Sri Lanka where he picked up the wickets of Angelo Mathews, Chamira Bandara and Kulasekara in the year 2009.

Tim Southee hurt Pakistan in the year 2010 and picked Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal.
