Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Highlights, 1st ODI: Najmul Hossain Shanto’s century, Mushfiqur Rahim 73 guide BAN to 6-wicket win against SL

Theekshana again and he'll be bowling to Shanto. Starts with a dot before the BAN captain takes a single. Mushfiqur returns the favour with a single of his own. Just the 2 from this over.

Just the 20 runs left now and all the time in the world to get it with 54 balls remaining. It's getting pretty hazy out there now. Liyanage in the atatck and starts with two dots. And the next one goes down town for a huge six!!! Takes a single off the fifth and Mushfiqur can see this over off. Ends with a dot.

Theekshana will continue and it's more of the same from the Bangladesh batters. Not taking any risks and dealing in singles. 4 from the over. 

Madushanka will continue and as usual the BAN batters take singles from the first 2 balls before Mushfiqur pulls the 3rd for a boundary!! Getting closer and closer. A single next and Shanto is back on strike. He takes a single as well. The over ends with another single.  

Theekshana back and yields 2 singles from the first two balls as the BAN batters keep the score ticking. Another single off the third and BAN are slowly moving towards the target. 5 from the over.

Lahiru Kumara will continue and the ball hits Shanto on the pads but there's a loud shout for LBW but nothing doing. Takes a single next and moves to 96. Mushfiqur gives back the strike with a single as well. Now that's a wide as Shanto waits for his century. And he gets it with a boundary!! 

Pramod Madushan again and Shanto has hit the first delivery as straight as it can get for a four!! Magnificent shot. Follows that up with 2 runs. 7 from this one ultimately.

Kumara is back in the field and will bowl this over. Gives away just 1 from the first 3 balls as Shanto is lucky to survive after the ball drops ahead of the fielder. Mushfiqur on strike and he punishes the short ball with a boundary!! 5 from this one.

Madushan back in the attack and Shanto slaps the second ball for a boundary. That's the 100 partnership for the duo as well. 2 dots next and Shanto pulls to get a single before Mushfiqur hits the last one for a boundary. 50 up for him as well.

Janith Liyanage again and starts with back to back dots. Those have been rare. A huge shout for catch behind by Mendis but the bowler isn't interested. Just the single from this over.

Hasaranga will continue and the runs keep coming with Shanto taking 3 from the first 2 deliveries. A reverse sweep from Mushfiqur next and gets a boundary!! That's certainly going to help the cause. Goes ariel next and mashes i over long on for another boundary!! 

Janith Liyanage in to bwol the next over and BAN keep those singles coming. Sri Lanka can't seem to stem the runs as the target is getting chipped away. 5 from this over as well. Slow and steady from the Bangla Tigers.

After a brief break in play where we saw Lahiru Kumara go out of the ground due to an injury, here's Hasaranga to bowl the 31st over. Mushfiqur starts this off with 2 runs. 2 more singles from the next 2 balls. 6 from the over.

Madushanka in to bowl the next one and Shanto takes a single to start this over off. Mushfiqur with 2 runs next and a wide follows that SL are not exactly helping their cause here. 6 from the over.

Theekshana continues and Mushfiqur takes a single. 100 left for BAN to win. Shanto takes 2 as the target is under 100 runs now. The home team will fancy their chances here. Just 4 from this one.

Madushanka in to bowl his second spell. Can he provide a breakthrough for his team? Back to back dots to start as Mushfiqur defends. A wide follows and a single to end. great over for SL, just 2 from it.

Theekshana in the attack now and Mushfiqur as well as Shanto rotate strikes. Sri Lanka need to curb these runs. That's 150 runs up. Mushfiqur takes 2 more as the target gets smaller. 7 from the over.

Hasaranga in to bowl the next one and Shanto promptly goes off strike with a single. Mushfiqur returns the favour straight away before Shanto sweeps for 2 runs. Hasaranga getting no help from the surface at all. 6 from the over.

Theekshana will continue and Shanto and Mushfiqur, take singles from the first couple of balls as BAN slowly chip away at the target. Looks like Mendis has a problem with his fingers. He's fine after the magic spray. Just 3 from the over.

Hasaranga to bowl the next delivery and yields 2 from the first two deliveries. Shanto takes another single and Mushfiqur with a boundary off the next ball!! 9 from this over.

Theekshana in to bowl he next one and a very sloppuy bit of fielding in the deep leads to a boundary and Shanto's 50. 2 more runs from the next two balls and almost gets a wicket off the 5th!! 8 from this over.

Hasaranga continues and starts with back to back singles as Shanto moves to 49 runs. Nothimng more from this over as Sri Lanka keeps the batters in check. 

Madushan to bowl the next over and starts with back to back dots. The third is not the ideal delivery and Mushfiqur  flicks it to fine leg for a boundary!! Down the leg side again and this time Mushfiqur takes a single. 5 from the over. 

Hasaranga wil continue and Mushfiqur takes a single to start this over off. A dot and a single follows as Shanto also goes off strike. Just 3 from the over ultimately. 

Pramod Madushan in for his second spell and Shanto welcomes him back with a straight boundary to long on!! Takes a single to give the strike to Mushfiqur who is beaten by the ensuing ball. A single next and Shanto pulls for another four to finish the over!!!

Hasaranga in to bowl the next over and Mushfiqur brings out the slog sweep for a boundary!! Takes a single and Shanto is back on strike. A single and that's 100 up for Bangladesh.

Kumara in the attack again and this time he strikes!! Mahmudullah tries to go for a big shot, does not get the required connection and Madushanka takes a superb catch!!

Hasaranga brought into the attack now and Mahmudullah welcomes him with a six!!! That was clean as as whistle and goes over long on!! Takes a single next and Shanto is on strike. Edged and no slips in place and that has also gone for a boundary!! 

Kumara will continue after the drinks break and starts with back to back dot balls before Shanto takes a single off the third. Mahmudullah on strike and he ramps for a single next. Short ball next and Shanto pulls, wasn't in control and gets the top edge. The ball sails over the third man boundary for a six!!!

Theekshana in to bowl the next one and yields two singles from the first couple of deliveries. Make that 3 singles of 3 balls as the BAN batters keep rotating the strikes. 2 more singles from the next deliveries and the over ends with another.

Kumara continues and Shanto smashes him for a four through extra cover and mid off!! akes a single and Mahmudullah is now on strike. He takes a single as well as BAN batters keep the scoreboard ticking. 8 from the over.

Time for spin as Theekshana is brought into the atatck and Mahmudullah takes a single to start this one off. Shanto returns the favour with a single of his own. Just 1 more from the next 3 balls and the over ends with another single.

Kumara in to the attack now and Hridoy gets a top edge but does not carry to third man. Lucky. Mahmudullah on strike now and he continues his boundary hitting ways as he smashes Kumara for a four to deep backward point. A single to end the over as the 1st powerplay is done.

Madushanka will comtinue and yields a dot and a wide from the first couple of deliveries before Mahmudullah slams the extra ball for a boundary. And follows that up with another four!! This time square of the wicket and through point. And another!! Nissanka gets a hand to this one but it still has the legs to go to the ropes. 

Madushan in to bowl the next over and starts with back to back dots as Mahmudullah tries to get off the strike. Gets an edge, past the slip fielders but not a boundary as it's being marshalled. 2 more dots follows and the over ends with another. 

Madushanka will continue and Shanto defends the first ball as Bangladesh try to get themselves out of the mire. Good fielding from Samarawickrama to keep it at dot. Ohhh!! The next ball is edged and just between the slips for a very fortunate four for Shanto. Pulls again and gets another four!! That was intentional. 

Pramod again and he strikes!!!! Creeps through Hridoy's bat and pad and has cleaned him up!! Bangladesh on the backfoot as Sri Lanka have their tails up!!

Madushanka in to bowl the next and starts with a dot as Hridoy defends before finding the fielder with a flick in the next delivery. Another dot as Hridoy struggles to get away. Finally takes a single off the 4th. Shanto ends the over with a boundary!! That will take some pressure off. 

Pramod continues and Hridoy with a single to go off strike. Shanto will now face the bowler and he gets a bat to the second delivery but it's a dot. Good delivery but Shanto gets his bat down at he last moment to keep it out. Finally Shanto gets the desired strike and takes 2 runs. Just 3 from this over.

Madushanka in to bowl the next one as he starts with back to back dots as Soumya Sarkar is cautious. Tries to find a gap off the next delivery but just gets a fielder inside the circle. And the pressure pays off as Sarkar gets the shot all wrong and Theekshana with an easy catch.

Madushan in to bowl the second over and Sarkar leaves the first delivery. The second one gets an inside edge and almost on to the stumps but the batter survives. Guides the next ball to deep backward point and BAN are on the board with 2 runs. Down the leg side next and that's 5 wides!! And again!!! Leg side and another 5 wides!! That's 10 extras from 2 balls, And after a dot, another wide. The captain won't be happy. Follows it up with a yorker!! Will SL review? They don't. Another yorker and this time SL review. Wickets are missing. 

Back for the run chase and Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar will open for Bangladesh. Dilshan Madushanka starts off and he starts off with a wicket!!! Das inside edges and plays it on to his stumps!!! Bangladesh lose their first wicket in the very first ball.

And it's all over as Tanzim Hasan Sakib takes a brilliant catch to get rid of Dilshan. Shoriful gets his 3rd as well and Sri Lanka are bundled out for 255.

Shoriful will bowl the penultimate over of the innings and Kumara starts this one off with a single. Madushan on strike and he's gone!!! Swings his bat at it, gets a top edge and Mushfiqur with an easy catch.

Taskin to bowl the last over of his spell and starts with a dot as Madushan defends. Follows it up with a wide and then a dot ball. Madushan finally gets off strike with a single.The last ball yields a couple as Ahmed's spell ends. 

Shoriful continues and he strikes!!! Liyanage comes out of the crease and edges it to Mushfiqur behind the stumps!! That's the wicket Bangladesh wanted and Sri Lanka are probably done.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib back in the attack and Madushan takes a quick single off a leg bye. 2 runs from the next 2 balls as Soumya Sarkar saves another certain boundary. Bangladesh fielding has been top notch today. Oh Tanzim looks to be struggling and he's leaving the field. Soumya will finish this over. 

Shoriful back in the attack and Liyanage comes forward to defend the first ball. Slashes the next ball and that's saved near the boundary for only a single. Madushan on strike and he creams the third ball to the deepnackward pint boundary. Madushan places the next ball towards third and what a brilliant save from Hridoy!! 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz  continues and starts off with a poor delivery as Liyanage starts with a four and then takes a single. Pramod Madushan on strike and he's given out LBW!! SL review though. Looked out though. Ohhh!! That has missed the stumps. The umpire has to overturn his decision. Madushan survives. 

Taskin will continue and Liyange takes a single to start this one off. Back to back dots as Theelshana struggles with Taskin's pace. And the pressure pays off as Theekshana throws a bat to the next ball and edges it to slip!!

Mehidy Hasan Miraz back in the attack and starts with back to back dots as Liyange is cautious. Takes a single next and new man Theekshana is on strike. Can't take a run as the over ends with just a single. 

Taskin in to bowl the next over and yields a single off the first couple of deliveries. Hasaranga nack on strike and he defends the third delivery before he is caught out!! Tries a ramp shot and has played it right into the hands of Hridoy at third man!!

Shoriful in the attack now and starts with a less than ideal delivery which is placed for a four by Liyange. Takes a single and that's 50 for the batter. Hasaranga on strike and he struggles to get off the strike. 3 dots by Shoriful to peg the batter back, 

Taskin continues and Liyanage with a quick single off the first delivery. Short ball next and Hasaranga pulls it away to long on for a boundary!!! He will not miss those. Pulls again and this time gets a 6!! Sailing over the deep square leg boundary it goes. Gets beaten the next ball. Over ends with back to back dots.

Taijul Islam will bowl the next over and Liyanage slots the first delivery to long on for a single. Hasaranga on strike and he returns the favour with a single of his own. Back to back singles in the next couple as the Lankan batters rapidly rotate strikes. 5 from the over ultimately. 200 up for SL. 

Taskin is also brought back as Mendis takes a single to start this over off as well.  Liyanage pushes the next one to deep midwicket to get 2 more. Frees his hand and slaps the third delivery towards sweeper cover but there's a fielder stationed there. Just a single. Mendis on strike and he's gone!!! Hits it straight down the throat of the mid off fielder.

On to the 36th over and Taijul Islam is brought back into the attack. Kusal Mendis starts with a single as a misfield helps the batter to go off strike. Huge shout for an LBW next but the umpire remains nonchalant. BAN don't review either. Back to back dots before Liyanage takes 2. Ends the over with a boundary. Lovely stroke.

Mehidy continues his impressive straight eight-over spell. The batters haven't found it easy to take him on. Just three runs from the over.
