As many as seven Africans were Sunday arrested for allegedly possessing contraband worth Rs 4 lakh, police said. Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of the anti-narcotics cell here conducted a raid under the Eastern Freeway bridge in Reay Road area in the wee hours and apprehended the seven Africans, a senior police official said.
All the accused had gathered there to sell contraband, including Meow Meow (104 gram) and cocaine (38 gram), he said. They were produced before a local magistrate who sent them in police custody for a day, an official said, adding a probe was on to ascertain if more foreigners are associated with the gang.
