A Dalit woman who filed a rape case against Bihar Assembly Speaker Sadanand Singh has withdrawn her charges. Reena Devi appeared in court on Tuesday with her parents and requested that the case be withdrawn. Her father Jogi Dom, the main witness, too retracted his statement.
In her petition, Reena submitted she had lodged the case under pressure from criminals and added that she feared for her life and those of her family now that she had sought permission to withdraw the case and requested for security.
