The first look of Yash Raj Films Band Baaja Baarat is out. Directed by Maneesh Sharma,the film is being promoted as a family entertainer resplendent with lavish Delhi weddings and lots of masti. Anushka Sharma and newbie Ranveer Singh,who play the lead roles of wedding-planners in the film,make for a fresh jodi. While Anushka,who is dressed in casual jeans or salwar-kurtas, essays the role of Shruti,a no-nonsense,ambitious girl,Ranveer plays Bitto,who has no particular aim in life.
I had to imbibe the body language and lingo of Delhi girls,which was very alien to a Bengaluru girl like me, said Anushka ,adding that she observed her cousins who have lived in Delhi to get the right nuances.
Ranveer,who has no modelling or acting experience,but was selected by producer Aditya Chopra at the first audition itself,looks promising. Bitto is full of masti and getting under the skin of the character was easy as Maneesh has a very clear vision what he wanted from me, he quipped.
Band Baaja Baaraat releases on December 10.
