Sony Entertainment channel has assured the Bombay High Court that the broadcast of the Vidya Balan-starrer Dirty Picture on Set Max channel on Sunday will be with UA certificate and without 56 adult scenes. The channel was responding to notices issued by the HC on a petition filed by a Nagpur resident,Pravin Dahat,who argued that the film couldnt be viewed at home along with family members because of its scenes and dialogues.
The channel and Balaji Telefilms lawyer Sunil Manohar told the court during the hearing today that 56 adult scenes were cut from the film for the telecast,which now will be shown as UA certified. The total length of the film after cuts now is 136.54 minutes.
The HC bench told the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,one of the respondents,that it should check the telecast for any flouting of rules.
