The buzz in the DMK circles is that Kanimozhi has elbowed out Dayanidhi Maran and T R Baalu to become the partys power centre in Delhi. And it seems the bureaucrats from the state have also sensed this. At least that is the impression one got when around 30 IAS and IPS officers from the state lined up to greet the Rajya Sabha MP at the Tamil Nadu House after attending a meeting called by Chief Minister Karunanidhi last week. A smiling Kanimozhi accepted their greetings. That both Baalu and Maran have lost their preeminence also became clear when they were kept out of Karunanidhis meeting with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. It is believed that the DMK patriarch had a 10-minute one-on-one meeting with Sonia,after which Kanimozhi was called in.
