Taiwan stocks rose 0.47 per cent on Wednesday,led by gains in smartphone maker HTC after the firm launched phones under its own brand and entered the Chinese market.
The main TAIEX share index ended up 36.80 points at 7,784.81,with HTC 2.7 per cent higher.
