Sebi inks pacts with 31 European regulators
New Delhi: For a greater oversight of hedge funds and other Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) with cross-border presence,Sebi has reached regulatory cooperation and information exchange pacts with its counterparts in 31 European countries. These include Germany,France,Spain,Italy,Luxembourg,Cyprus,Liechtenstein,Belgium,the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Passengers group takes airlines to CCI
Mumbai: The Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) has dragged domestic airlines to the Competition Commission of India following a steep 25 per cent hike in air fares in tandem over the past week,alleging cartelisation. In its petition the association has also accused them of hiking fares around the festive season.
Nabard to build 10,000 warehouses
Mumbai: Anticipating that Food Security Act may create a storage capacity shortfall for around 15 lakh tonne foodgrain,Nabard has kick-started a project to build 10,000 warehouses at panchayat level this fiscal at an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.
India confident of clearing aviation audit
NEW DELHi: India is confident of clearing the safety audit under International Aviation Safety Assessment programme of the US regulator as most of the concerns raised in 2009 have been fulfilled,the aviation ministry said.
