Malayalam film on NRIs in Bahrain

A Malayalam film based on the lives of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) living in Bahrain is being made by director Subin Josh and is expected to be released in January next year.

The film,Ormayilennum (Always in Memory),being shot exclusively in Manama, revolves around a doctor who comes to Bahrain to investigate the mysterious death of his father, who worked abroad for 25 years. The movie is being filmed in home cinema format for release on DVD,but will be shot in high-definition and widescreen format to allow for future cinema release. It aims to show the strong bond between NRIs and their families despite the time they spend apart and portray the lifestyle of Indian expatriates in Bahrain. Both formats are being produced by movie director Josh,a food company salesman by trade.

The film has Indian actor Hari Sankar playing the doctor, while Bahrain resident student Rehana Abdul Lathif plays the female lead role of a lover and the daughter of a big businessman.

The movie shows the family plight of many Indians, where mostly only the father leaves home to earn money for the livelihood and well-being of his family back home.
