Shanghai Electrical Ltd (SEL) and Punj Lloyd is all likely to set up CESCs 2x300mw thermal power plant in Haldia as EPC contractors,while eight private equity firms have shown interest to pick up stakes in CESC subsidiary Haldia Energy Ltd (HEL),implementing projects at Maharashtra,Orissa and West Bengal. CESC wants to off- load 20 per cent holding or 1.2 crore equity share in HEL. CESC vice chairman Sanjiv Goenka after announcing the third quarter results,said out of the three bidders for boiler,turbine and generator package,SEL emerged as lowest bidder quoting Rs 2.14 crore per mw followed by BHEL.
