At the one-day conference of Director Generals of Police of the southern states,Andhra DGP R R Girish Kumar said Kerala-based fundamentalist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) has become partially active in the state. “Its posters were found pasted in Hyderabad recently. They are trying to organise themselves,” Kumar said.

Senior police officers of Andhra and Kerala attending the conference here exchanged information on the organisation,which was responsible for hacking off the hand of T J Thomas,a lecturer in Kerala.

One of the main issues discussed at the conference,attended by Kerala DGP Jacob Punnoose,DGP CID of Karnataka D V Guru Prasad,Tamil Nadu DGP Latika Saran and other senior police officers,was fundamentalist organisations,besides Left-wing terrorism.
