India’s state-run National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALCO) ,the country’s third largest producer of aluminium,said it has received government approval to mine a coal block in Orissa,which has an estimated reserve of 70 million tonnes.
The allocated Utkal-E coal block will meet the requirements of new units of NALCO’s captive power plant at Angul,a district in the eastern state of Orissa,which supplies power to its aluminium smelter,the company said in a statement.
