Lily Allen,It's Not Me,It's You Label Capitol Rs.399; rating: HHH

It’s Not Me,It’s You is British singer-songwriter Lily Allen’s second album after she debuted with her smash-hit album,Alright,Still in 2007. It has Allen continuing with her signature tongue-in-cheek lyrics that alternate between witty and offensive. So,while they may fascinate some, they might just make others cringe. Not Allen’s fault though. She’s only 23 after all, evident in her lyrics Now I know you feel betrayed/ but it’s been a week since I got laid on the track Never Gonna Happen.

In this synth-heavy electro-pop album,Allen touches upon nearly everything. Alongside confessional tracks such as Him,there’s also the number F*** You,which takes a dig at former US president George W. Bush. The album’s musical arrangement won’t bowl you over, though she does try belting out a ballad with the track Chinese. Though witty lyrics make the album worth playing, listening to it becomes monotonous as almost all the tracks are filled with synth.
