Usha Shreyas of Bangalore deposed in court on Wednesday and said she had never rented out her property to Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist arrested for the 26/11 terror attacks. A fake college identity card seized from Kasab mentions an address that is on Shreyass property.
Shreyas told special judge M L Tahilyani that she had never seen Kasab before. She confirmed she owned the plot on 254,Teachers Colony,Bangalore, but revealed that the property was vacant.
The college named in the card – Arunodhaya Degree and PG College – does not exist in Bangalore, she said.
The prosecution said Kasabs identity card was fake, giving his name as Samir Choudhary and with an address in Bangalore. His slain partner Abu Ismail Khan too had a fake ID card. Shreyas produced papers to prove she owns the plot mentioned in the card.
Among other witnesses,RPF inspector Shivkumar Bhosale identified Kasab and described the shooting at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. So did railway employee Vishal Kardek, who was injured in the firing. The prosecution has,so far, examined 69 witnesses.
On Thursday, the court will view CCTV footage from the CST,and a big screen will be put up with extra speakers.
