The police and the tribal department in Gadchiroli Sunday sent 80 boys and girls from remote villages that are Naxal affected on a 10-day Maharashtra Darshan programme. Two buses with 40 BPL boys and girls each, aged between 13-18 years, were flagged off from Gadchiroli by health activists Abhay and Rani Bang. SP Suvez Haq was also present. The Tribal Development department has provided the funds for the programme.

Aimed at orienting the boys and girls to the fast-changing outside world, the tour will cover many places across the state and would take the children to places of worship, industrial activity and to glamour spots in Mumbai.

“They will also take a tour of the Mantralaya and Vidhan Bhavan and meet ministers. DGP Sanjeev Dayal will host a dinner for them where Home Minister R R Patil will also interact with them,” Haq said.
