Govt vehicle hits 4,Ranchi area tense

The Rapid Action Force (RAF) was called out to assist the police as violence rocked Doranda locality here on Monday when four persons,including three women,were injured in an accident caused by an SUV of the state Human Resource Department.

Residents of the locality pelted stones on the police and set the SUV on fire. They also beat up the driver,Purshottam Minz. Those who have been injured are Razia Begum (30),Neha Praveen (15),Anjali Gupta (40) and Bishun Ram. All of them have been admitted to Apollo Hospital where the condition of Begum,Praveen and Gupta was critical.

The driver who sustained injuries was admitted to state government-run RIMS Hospital. “He has bruises all over,” said an RIMS doctor.

Investigations by the police have revealed that Minz was driving the vehicle to Doranda bazaar for buying medicines when he lost control and hit the victims.
