Uttar Pradesh Police’s Economic Offence Wing Thursday lodged an FIR against former MoS for Finance Vimal Krishna Agarwal for cheating and fraud in the purchase of a government-owned cold storage at a price much below the circle rate. Five officials have been named as co-accused in the FIR lodged at Ujhani police station in Budaun district.
Agarwal,however,claimed that he had bought the property in an open auction in 2005 which was attended by 35 bidders,that the cold storage had liabilities of Rs 40 lakh and that he was not a minister at that time.
