Spelling more trouble for former World Billiards Champion Michael Ferreira, the Mumbai Police Saturday initiated the process of issuing a lookout notice against him in connection with a case of fraud and impersonation registered against him and a relative in November last year.
A lookout notice was issued against Ferreira on January 2,in connection with the Rs 425-crore Qnet scam being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai police crime branch. Police sources said a complaint was registered against Ferreira and his cousin Peter Dominic Ferreira,a Canadian national,November 25,2013,by Gorai resident Cyril Hendricks. The two had allegedly sold a plot in Gorai to two builders, which Hendricks said had been sold to his mother in 1935.
The complaint said in 2008,Michael prepared a power of attorney giving Peter control over plots the former owns in Gorai, after which Peter allegedly sold the plot in question to local builders. Hendricks then approached police.
