Following the successful tie up with the Japanese for investment in Neemrana,a similar special economic zone for South Korea is slated to come up 13 km away at Ghilot on NH 8. The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) signed MoU with the Korean Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on Monday in New Delhi that entails the setting up of a 250 acre exclusive zone for Korean companies.
The deal fructified after several Korean companies showed keen interest in investing in Rajasthan seeing the successful tie-up with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Neemrana. A delegation from South Korea met Chairman RIICO,Sunil Arora in December last year.
Naveen Mahajan,MD,RIICO said that the body is in also in talks with Thailand and the ambassador of the country,who was on a visit to the state,had initiated a dialogue on similar lines but it is only in the initial stages.
