Dr Reddy’s Lab launches cancer injection in the US market

Drug maker Dr Reddy’s Laboratories said it has launched Gemcitabine injection,used in treating cancer,in the American market.

The company,after receiving approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has launched on July 25 Gemcitabine injection in the strength of 200 mg/vial and 1 g/vial in the American market,Dr Reddy’s Laboratories said in a statement.

Gemcitabine injection is a bioequivalent generic version of Gemzar brand,which had sales of nearly USD 634 million in the US for the 12 months ended May 31,2011,it added.

Shares of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories today closed at Rs 1,584.90 on the Bombay Stock Exchange,up 0.48 per cent from its previous close.
