A Special Auxiliary Police man and a civilian were killed after police and public clashed over anti-encroachment drive by police on Saturday afternoon.
The incident took place at Bhavanandpur village when a mob became violent after Begusarai police started a drive to remove encroachment from a plot. The police said the land belonged to one Rampadarath Singh of the same village.
SAP jawan Umashankar was first over-powered by irate people and later bludgeoned to death. Police and public later also exchanged firing in which a villager Bhula Yadav was killed,the police added.
