Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh,an accused in the cash-for-vote case,on Tuesday expressed apprehension that there was a conspiracy to keep him out of the scene till the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are over. He also warned his detractors that he was aware of the design but would not like to speak out as the issue was sub judice.
I do not want to hurl accusations at anyone. But there is a well-orchestrated conspiracy to keep me away from the scene during the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. I have full information about it. But will not speak out as the issue is sub judice, Amar Singh, who was granted bail in the cash-for-vote case recently, told reporters at his residence here.
He also announced his plan to hold a rally of his supporters in Sarnath (Uttar Pradesh) on November 14 to press for a separate state of Poorvanchal to be carved out from eastern UP.
While he did not elaborate about the alleged conspirators,Amar Singh dared the Samajwadi Party (SP),from which he was expelled last year,to throw light on the role of its senior leader and Lok Sabha MP Rewati Raman Singh in the cash-for-vote scandal.
The trial court had recently summoned Rewati Raman Singh for his alleged role in bringing all the accused together in this case. Subsequently, the Delhi High Court stayed the order of the trial court. The High Court is likely to hear the matter early next week.
Amar Singh was granted permission by the court to go to Singapore to consult his doctors during November 8-30. Singh said he had changed his plans as his doctor was travelling to the US and would be back in Singapore only after November 16. He will now visit Singapore only after November 15 or 16.
He came down heavily on Team Annas agitation for not offering any political alternative while slamming all political parties.
He took potshots at Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan for his alleged remarks on Kashmir and even went on to assert that he shared the sentiments of those who physically attacked Bhushan, even though he did not approve of them taking the law into their hands.
