Cisco has been ranked the Number 1 vendor in India in the Wireless LAN equipment market in revenues in 2009,as per IDCs Asia/Pacific Semiannual Wireless LAN Tracker,2H2009,April 2010.
Cisco has been holding the Number 1 position in India for three consecutive years 2007,2008 and 2009. Cisco held 19.6% revenue market share in 2009 that enabled it to retain its leadership in the WLAN market in India.
The Indian Wireless LAN equipment market has evolved rapidly as a way of differentiation and to meet consumers’ needs. From the provisioning of public hotspots to enterprise deployment,the interest to deploy WLAN has been on a continuous rise.
Ahead of the market demand,Cisco not only introduced compelling range of Wireless N products to the Indian market but also established 16 RMA exchange centers over the last 15 months.
Cisco has also grown its channel partner base to 2000,a growth of almost 50% Y-O-Y and has rapidly extended its channel partner network to Tier II,III and IV locations covering over 200 big and small cities.
