CBI chargesheets Dy SP in Nighasan murder case

The three others are Khans gunner Atiq Ahmed and constables Uma Shankar and Shiv Kumar.

The CBI,investigating the death of a 14-year-old girl whose body was found hanging from a tree at the Nighasan police station premises in Lakhimpur Kheri district on June 10,2011,filed a chargesheet against four policemen,including Deputy Superintendent of Police Inayatullah Khan,on Saturday.

Inayatullah,presently posted at PAC 35th Battalion in Lucknow,was then posted as a circle officer in Kheri. The three others are Khans gunner Atiq Ahmed and constables Uma Shankar and Shiv Kumar.

CBIs special public prosecutor K P Singh said the chargesheet was filed in the court of Special Judicial Magistrate Mirza Zeenat. The court fixed April 1 for the next order,Singh added.

Singh said that Atiq has been chargesheeted on murder charges,while others have been booked for destruction of evidence.
