Reacting to the Supreme Court ruling that said that the auction route was not the only method for allocating natural resources,the BJP on Thursday said competitive bidding should be the practice in allocating natural resources for commercial use.
In 2G case where Supreme Court had ruled for competitive bidding,the spirit was that government should not be discretionary in allotment of natural resources for commercial purposes, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley. He said air and drinking water should not be allotted through auctioning. He,however,asserted that the same cannot be applied for natural resources for commercial usage.
