Bharti Airtel on Wednesday called off the much-hyped USD 23 billion deal for amalgamation with South Africa’s MTN after nearly four month-long intense discussions.
“The deal has been called off,” Bharti spokesperson said.

This is the second time in less than two years the Indian corporate giant called off the negotiations in a deal to acquire control of South African major that has presence in 21 countries with about 100 million subscribers.
