Apollo,GlaxoSmithKline shares surge on MSCI inclusion

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise was the biggest gainer climbing 8.51 per cent to close at Rs 1,048.

Apollo Hospitals,GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare shares,Oil India and Wockhardt,which have been included in the MSCI India Index,today surged as much as 8 per cent.

Stocks of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare also touched their 52-week highs today.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise was the biggest gainer climbing 8.51 per cent to close at Rs 1,048. During intra-day trading,the scrip also touched its 52-week high of Rs 1,060 on the BSE.

Shares of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare shot up 7.66 per cent to end the day at Rs 4,783.45. It also reached the 52-week high of Rs 4,808.

Oil India rose 3.10 per cent to close at Rs 589.60 after touching the day’s high of Rs 605.

Meanwhile,Wockhardt shares gained more than 1 per cent to close at Rs 1,848.10.

All these four stocks have been included in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) India Index,with effect from May 31
