A 19-year-old student in UK has set a new world record for the fastest journey from the coast of Antarctica to the south pole,after completing the arduous trek in just 18 days. Parker Liautaud,a student at Yale University,has also become the youngest man to have skied to the South Pole. The teenage environmental campaigner and his expedition partner Doug Stoup set a new world record for the fastest journey from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole. He set off for the 561 km trek on December 3 with two goals: to undertake scientific research and collect data samples and to reignite dialogue on climate change,Daily Express reported. The whole journey is really a mental one,managing uncertainty and trying to manage risk, he said.
