UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura today confirmed that a team of experts will be visiting Agra soon to take a close look at the construction of the unauthorised Heritage Corridor.
At a press conference today, Matsuura said: ‘‘We are concerned and Union Minister for Toursim and Culture Jagmohan is also equally concerned about the Taj. The Minister has also agreed for the visit.’’
Matsuura did not give any details about the team other than the fact that it will comprise four members. Yesterday in a meeting with Jagmohan, he had confirmed the team’s visit before February 2004.
