KHARAR, JULY 11: The Kharar police have booked five persons, including two property dealers for allegedly attacking a labourer, working at a farmhouse in Fatehullapur village under Kharar municipal limits on June 22 and threatening him with dire consequences.
According to the FIR, the victim Shankar Singh, who is working as a servant at the farmhouse of Manjeet Singh Saini for the past about one and a half year, had reported to the police that five persons, including two property dealers namely Manjinder Singh and Naib Singh, came to the farmhouse on the night of June 22 and asked him to open the lock of the motor installed in the farmhouse.
He alleged that as soon as he opened the lock of the motor, the miscreants equipped with sticks started beating him mercilessly without any reason. Before fleeing, the assailants, he alleged, threatened him with dire consequences.
Shankar said he sustained serious injuries on several parts of his body during the attack. Police sources, when contacted, confirmed the incident and said no arrests had been made in this connection so far.
Meanwhile, the farmhouse owner had alleged that the police was trying to hush up the case as the accused were roaming about in the open without any fear and the police had so far failed to arrest them. He said the attack was connected with an agreement, which had been fraudulently entered between the said property dealers and his wife to sell the farmhouse land. He alleged that the property dealers had made an unsuccessful bid to take possession of the farmhouse land.
