CHANDIGARH, Feb 7: A 23-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by laying on a railway track in the wee hours of Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Sharma, a resident of Pipli town, who worked in a photolab in Sector 22.
According to police, the body was recovered from the Chandigarh-Kalka railway track near Kishangarh village. Police said he was crushed by a rail engine which passed around 3.30 a.m. The body was found around 7.30 a.m.
Health officer dies after fall N A Punjab health officer died after falling from the fourth floor of the PGI, today. According to police, Satish Chander, around 53 years old, was being treated for jaundice since February 1. He "accidentally" fell from the window of a private ward (D-block) on the fourth floor, this morning. He died on the spot, police sources said. The police said that it was an accidental death and have ruled out any foul play or it being a suicide case.
