PUNE, Feb 15: Telco `B’ lifted the Inter Industrial Volleyball (passing) title edging out Telco `A’ 25-19, 25-23 in a keenly fought encounter, at the Deccan Gymkhana courts here recently.
The tournament held under the aegis of the Industrial Sports Association was conducted by Bajaj Auto.
The winners were ably supported by Dadasaheb Chavan and Uday Karundikar, while the losers put up good show in the initial stage through Subhash Surve and Hemant Maddum.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Telco `B’ defeated their arch rivals Bajaj Auto `A’ 25-19, 25-17 while Telco `A’ had to toil hard before defeating Bajaj Auto `B’ 25-17, 25-16.
Chief guests Dinkar Nimbalkar (Div manager-Telco) and Vasant Thombre (Bajaj Auto-Sports officer) gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
