TIRUCHI, June 18: The records at the Tamil Nadu Archives are to be computerised and connected to the internet for global access, according to C K Ghariyali, Commissioner for Archives and Historical Research. About 1000 books printed in English and Dutch from 1640 to 1900 will be laminated, and for this purpose, a new lamination machine has been purchased at the cost of Rs 7 lakh. She added that newspapers, magazines and posters banned by the English government will be displayed at the special exhibition organised to commemorate 50 years of Indian Independence.
