NEW DELHI, May 19: A Delhi Court today remanded a police sub-inspector to judicial custody for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman and her husband while trying to extract money from them.

Metropolitan Magistrate Santosh Snehi Mann while sending sub-inspector V.S. During the recording of statements, Rakhi, the victim, told the magistrate that she and her husband, Parvesh, got married last year without informing her father who later filed a complaint of kidnapping in Nangloi police station.

On information that the couple were residing in Gazhipur in UP, the IO and her father reached their house in the middle of the night and the former assaulted them while demanding money. They were also assaulted later in a police station where they were detained for over 3O hours, she alleged.
