In an interesting case, a student-teacher duo have levelled accusations of sexual harassment against each other at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University.

It all began when a Hindi teacher in the School of Languages of JNU had filed a complaint against the student with the Gender Sensitisation Committee against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH), the varsity’s top body dealing with such issues, last month, university sources said.

Within a short time, the committee was approached by the student with a similar complaint against the teacher.

“Both the parties approached GSCASH with their complaint.

The committee, as per procedure has constituted a Complainer Screening Committee (CSC). But these complaints are at the very initial stage and nobody can be termed as accused,” a member of GSCASH said.

The committee is yet to submit its report and things can be ascertained only after it, the member added.
