NEW DELHI, September 30: Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and Lady Shri Ram (LSR) claimed the men’s and women’s team titles in the Delhi University inter-college table tennis tournament here today. In men’s final, SRCC beat Hans Raj 3-1 while in women’s section, LSR defeated St Stephen’s College 3-0. Hans Raj won the third spot, beating Jesus and Mary College 3-2.
Men final: SRCC bt Hans Raj 3-1 (Gagandeep Singh Mehta bt Atul Jain 21-9, 21-9; Rajiv Ghai lost to Gaurav 17-21, 20-22; Sumit Juneja bt Gaurav Jain 21-15, 15-21, 21-17; Rajiv Ghai bt Atul Jain 21=18, 21-15).
Women final
: LSR bt St Stephen’s 3-0 (Ekta Bhambri bt Ravjeet Kaur 21-11, 21-18; Ishani Barua bt Honey Arora 21-8, 21-14; Ekta-Ishani bt Ravjeet-Honey 21-18, 21-15). For 3-4 places: hans Raj bt JMC 3-2 (Ashima Babbar bt Shikha 21-8, 21-18; Rupali lost to Pallavi Luthra 19-21, 11-21; Ashima-Rupali bt Shikha-Pallavi 19-21, 21-19, 21-19; Ashima lost to Pallavi 19-21, 16-21; Rupali bt Shikha 21-14, 21-11).
