ISLAMABAD, July 23: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s palatial secretariat, which is being sold due to severe economic crisis, may ultimately be turned into a five-star hotel, media reports today said.

The 372-room pink Mughal architecture building, which had been inaugurated less than a year ago, was put up for sale by the cash-strapped Nawaz Sharif government about a fortnight ago, The News daily said.

The privatisation commission, responsible for selling government assets, failed to evoke any response from domestic parties amidst a deepening economic crisis and only a private company from Saudi Arabia has expressed interest.
