Exiled former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday urged the West to abandon the country’s military ruler, warning that Pakistan was heading deeper into chaos and his arch enemy had outlived his usefulness in fighting terrorism. Speaking from Saudi Arabia, Sharif ruled out teaming up with Benazir Bhutto, another key Opposition leader, unless she abandoned talks with Musharraf.
