J-K political leaders react to the SC verdict on the Parliament Attack case:

• Mehbooba Mufti, president, PDP: (Prof S A R) Geelani was pronounced guilty even before the verdict. Now he has been acquitted and it proves the independence of our judiciary…. The verdict (against Afzal) may have been based on some proof.

• Yasin Malik, chairman, JKLF: This (Afzal verdict) goes against the spirit of the so-called dialogue between India and Pakistan. India hanged JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat and that produced hundreds of Maqbools.

• Shabir Ahmad Shah President, DFP: This (Afzal verdict) is not good. They should give a second thought to the issue.
