Former Goa CM Pratapsinh Rane on Monday requested the Supreme Court to dismiss the petition filed by his predecessor Manohar Parrikar, saying it would bring ‘‘political tranquillity’’ to the proceedings of the Assembly.
Chief Justice R.C. Lahoti, heading a bench comprising Justices D.M. Dharmadhikari and A.R. Lakshmanan, asked Rane’s counsel Ashok Desai, adjourned till March 14, hearing on the petition challenging Governor S.C. Jamir’s February 2 dismissal of the BJP government and gave Parrikar till Monday to amend his petition if he wished to. —PTI
